Thoughts On Fall
It is not yet the frenzy of Halloween and the deep fall
With which vibrant colors and festivities abound
No, this is the in between time.
Summer fell asleep and fall is waking up in a moment of quietude.
A light breeze caresses our faces at sunset time.
The air feels softer, time feels slower.
Leaves slowly detach themselves from their branches.
Aiming for Mother Earth to create a crisp carpet.
In which squirrels will bury their nuts.
Delicate green moss softly envelop tree trunks.
Apples warmly colored roll on the ground.
Buttery yellow, rosy and orange leaves cover the earth.
This in between time is the time to sit And quietly reflect,
to feel the loveliness.
Of time and its seasons forever marking our lifespan.
