Softness of Falling for Fall
I think we all have a tolerance for heat, bbq's, water, sun, and fun. The thought of lying around watching the mermaid swim in the pool from the balcony with a geese parade for another month in the heat would be maddening. So the end of summer sizzles as a huge front blows in 9 inches of rain. The rain slowly lets up to storm again night after night blowing in a sea breeze of fall scents of cooling waters and jumping fish appear for a birds feasting paradise.
I almost forgot about Labor Day even passing this year. A mystery pop wedding on the fly after the day had me distracted for a week. Even during this time I had forgot it was the end of summer. All the pink flowers now blown off into the pool covering it with a blanket of fluff. The balcony flooded with rainwater.
I suddenly feel the rain drop the temperature. I quickly realize the tee shirt I have choose for the day is no longer good attire for the day. I upgrade to a thermal and some cozy leggings and best of all socks. It's been all summer since the feet have seen the cushy warm covers. I love the change of this season the most. It's a downshift before the up shift of a busy holiday season. Just for this brief moment we can really fall in love with fall.
The trees slowly turn to their earthy colors of gold, orange, red, and brown floating in the sky down to the ground still damp with a flash flood of showers. I reflect to the time of thanks for the reason for all seasons.
